our program
The Episcopal Youth Community of the Diocese of Atlanta is a vibrant, inclusive network of young people and adult leaders from across Middle and North Georgia. Rooted in the love of Jesus and the tradition of The Episcopal Church, we gather to grow in faith, build authentic relationships, and live out God’s call to serve the world.
Through retreats, service projects, leadership training, and camp experiences, EYCDIOATL creates space for youth in grades 6–12 to connect with God and one another in life-giving ways. We believe that every person is wonderfully made and has unique gifts to share, and our programs are designed to help young people discover, deepen, and share those gifts.
Whether we’re worshiping around a campfire, packing meals for our neighbors, singing at the top of our lungs, or wrestling with big questions about life and faith, EYCDIOATL is a place where all are welcome, all are loved, and all belong.
Our bishop
Our missioner
The Rt. Rev. Robert C. Wright became the 10th bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta in 2012. Since his election, he has been a vocal and active leader in the community, addressing Georgia’s state legislature on gun control, advocating for the abolition of the death penalty, and supporting programs for underprivileged youth. Wright was born in a Roman Catholic orphanage in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and adopted at the age of nine months. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school and served as helicopter crew-chief and search and rescue diver before attending Howard University in Washington, D.C. Wright graduated with a degree in history and political science and began working for the Children’s Defense Fund and later for two mayors of Washington, D.C. as a child advocate. He was ordained a deacon in June 1998 at the Washington National Cathedral and later priest in February 1999 at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City.
Bishop Wright often teaches about the importance of love and of justice and continues to lead the Diocese to be one of service and faith and always on the mission for the Kingdom of God. Bishop Wright is a passionate advocate for young people’s leadership and their full participation in shaping today’s Church. Find him @BishopWright on social media or check out FOR PEOPLE, his weekly devotional podcast (available on all platforms).
Holle Tubbs has served in formation ministry leadership since 2003, working in both nondenominational and Episcopal contexts. She joined the Bishop’s Staff of the Diocese of Atlanta in 2021.
In her diocesan role, Holle develops EYCDIOATL programs, supports and mobilizes youth ministers and young people, and partners with the Mikell Board of Governors to oversee the ministry of Mikell Camp & Conference Center in Toccoa, GA. She also leads The Keep/Watch Project, an Atlanta-based suicide prevention ministry offering curriculum and training for individuals, congregations, and faith-based organizations.
Beyond the Diocese, Holle collaborates with ministry leaders across the Church to equip students, strengthen intergenerational ministry, and explore fresh ways to engage Gen Z/Gen Alpha. She is a partner with the Forma Network and serves on the Youth Ministry Council of Advice for The Episcopal Church. A passionate advocate for mental health and leadership development, Holle is committed to helping young people and their leaders thrive.
our team
EYCDIOATL is led by a team of adults and youth who follow Jesus and serve the community. We honor our Baptismal Covenant by creating spaces for all students (grades 6-12) to learn, grow and worship — regardless of age, race, gender, orientation, physical ability, or economic status. Youth aren’t the only people in our community — our ministry requires the faithful work of dedicated adult staff and volunteers. We welcome all adults who abide by our Community Covenant and Safe Church policies. Whoever you are and however you come, you are welcome!
